The Recent Years - 1993 to Sep 2000
Ironbridge

1993 was a big year for me as it was the first time I managed to take a solo holiday, a couple of days in the Ironbridge area in Northern England. I had also planned that this would be when I would buy my first set of underwear. Telford was at one time famous for having the first large out of town shopping centre and I was sure that it would be far enough away from home and large enough for me to overcome any inhibitions I had.

My target was a long line bra and a panty girdle (the smallest one I could find). I had decided to use what I now know to be a favourite trick of the first time TV - the shopping list. Pretending I was trying to match a set of measurements etc. supplied by a fictitious girlfriend or wife, I went into Marks and Spencer and tentatively made my selection. I found walking up to the cash desk a little intimidating and, of course, there was a queue so I got more and more nervous. My time came to pay and ..... nothing, no reaction whatsoever from the checkout girl. I couldn't believe I had been so tense about what turned out to be such an easy thing to do!

I spent the night in Shrewsbury and tried on my purchases for the first time. It felt great to have my own clothes and they fit well too - I still have them and wear them today.

Hamburg

In 1994 my friends from work and I had a long weekend in Hamburg and as seems to be traditional, we decided to visit the famous Red Light district. Sadly, there was no way I could suggest we visit one of the Travesti cabarets but we did get to look around quite a few shops which opened my eyes about the variety of Tranny magazines and videos that were available at the time !

Chrysler Building

In 1996 one of my pals from work was seconded to the New York office and invited us out to see his Manhatten Apartment. As part of the visit he promised an unusual night out. What that turned out to be was a visit to Lucky Chen's the famous restaurant where the waitresses are all TVs/Drag queens ! I could barely contain my excitement as this was the very place I would have chosen to visit had I been travelling alone. The waitresses didn't just serve the food - for birthday boys and girls they did a table dance! Some of the girls were truly beautiful - in fact one looked so good I thought she must be a TS until as part of her dance she popped out one of her water filled balloon boobs! After the meal we went downstairs where there was a small cabaret area. There we were treated to a variety of acts from some impressive live singing by 'Marylin' to a mimed comedy dance from one of the girls wearing the tiniest of bikinis. All in all a fun night out.

Transformation Birmingham

Throughout 1995-1998 I had made a few trips to the Transformation shop in London. Being the only nationally advertised chain it was the only shop for Trannies I knew of in easy reach of where I live.
I had bought a few magazines and nearly taken a changeaway but bottled out because I knew I would be returning home that day and was afraid that evidence of what I had been up to might give away my secret to my parents.
However, I really did want to know what it would be like to be fully dressed so I decided that the best way forward was to plan a holiday that would allow me to visit one of their stores.... Transformation Birmingham.
On 11th May 1999 Wendy was born. For details see First Transformation.

Flushed with the success of my first full dressing experience, and having been seen dressed for the first time by someone other than me, I went shopping in Wrexham where I bought my first pair of panties and a matching Wonderbra. This was a real impulse buy as I had a very hairy chest at the time so I could hardly expect a convincing cleavage!

Transformation Bristol

I had enjoyed my visit to Birmingham so much I resolved to try another Changeaway but as I had no obvious reason to head north again in the same year, I settled on a trip to the Bristol shop.
I had an excuse for heading west because I had alway wanted to visit Glastonbury and the area around Wells. A stop off at Bristol on the way was no problem. This was what happened on 14th September 1999.
For the details of how that went, see Second Transformation.

Late in 1999 I finally decided that PC prices had reached an acceptable level so I bought my PC and connected to the internet. Till then I hadn't appreciated how many other girls like me there were out there.

I noticed that lots of the girls had not just Christian names but surnames too and decided that Wendy should have one too, especially as I had decided that I needed EMAIL address so I could start to interact with other girls.
I started working my way through the alphabet until I struck the letter D and the name Davies which I felt seemed to go nicely.

This allowed me to subscribe to the Life's a Draag E-Zine which I had come across during a surfing session. That site has some great tips by the way.
