Angels in Manchester - The Advance Party!

When the idea of an Angels trip to Manchester was first mooted it was supposed to be a two nighter so I had booked my hotel accordingly. However, by the Tuesday before it became apparent that few others were planning to be up on the Friday and although I tried contacting likely candidates, email problems meant I set off not knowing if anyone would be about but resolving that I would go out alone Friday if necessary!
The journey up was a little fraught - heavy traffic meant a total journey time of four-and-a-half hours but luckily I surprised myself by not getting lost!

I checked into the Ibis as I had last time. It's outside the actual village area but the rooms are nice and the rate is reasonable. I decided to walk the village area in drab so I could refresh my memory about where venues were for later. As it turned out the main shopping area is nearby so I had time to look around a little, buying two tops (one red and fancy, one blue and clubby but day wear too) and some nice black stretch trousers. I had already purchased new tights and briefs (g-backed and excellent for tucking) from a Sock Shop on the motorway services.

I had decided that as I had only body shaved the weekend before, I would save the close shave for Saturday night. So I wore the burgundy long sleeved top I had bought from Next in Plymouth, my pencil skirt, and dance tights (to hide the, admittedly quite short, hair on my legs) with 15 denier black tights over them.
As I had a decent walk ahead of me I didn't wear my new stiletto heeled sandals but went back to my old favourite heels. I also wore my winter coat. I knew this would restrict me a bit but it wasn't too warm the first night and I also thought it would help draw less attention.

I knew that my best chance of meeting anyone would be to get out fairly late so I planned to be at the Hollywood Showbar's Piano Bar by ten o'clock. Whilst I was getting ready, I got a text message from Sue confirming, as I feared, that she had been experiencing email trouble and hadn't got my mail in time to come over that night. Never-the-less my mind was made up - Wendy was hitting the town solo.

It helped enormously that I had been out there once before (admittedly in a group) but the distance from the Ibis to the club seemed much longer on my own.
Still, I had no hassle at all from the locals, so I arrived feeling quite happy. As usual the guy on the door waved me straight in (T-girls don't have to pay entry at the Showbar and indeed at quite a few of the other venues).
Up in the Piano Bar I was disappointed to see I was the only girl present but I purchased a drink and settled down to listen to the piano player and await developments.......

AllyAfter only about 10 minutes I recognized a familiar figure at the bar. Ally, who I had met at Angelic and in that very bar last time I was up, had also returned to her home town for the weekend and had made the same decisions as me! There was also another girl at the bar, a local called Angela. We decided to team up for the evening. After a drink, we set out to cram in as many clubs as we could manage.

First up was Spirit, a fairly modern club/bar. As far as I could tell we were the only T-girls there but that just added to the fun. We managed to find a table on the third floor and spent a pleasant twenty minutes having a drink and a chat.
At Angela's suggestion we moved on to Churchills. This is basically an old fashioned pub with a very young bar staff and a mixed clientele but again we were the only T-girls. Lot's of good (and loud!) music here and a very small and crowded dance floor (featuring some very energetic dancers) so we settled down with a drink to take in the atmosphere.

Next we decided to try Vanilla - this is a Lesbian club but Ally assured me she had never had any trouble getting in. And so it proved for us. The girls on the door waved us straight in. A nice light airy club this one. For those interested, it is apparently a very good place to go and watch the Saturday afternoon football! Good music again, nice crowd. We managed to find a table on the upper level (though no chairs!) and continued chatting.

Angela wanted to get along to Napoleon's as she thought some of her friends might be there but at only half-past-eleven, Ally and I felt it was too early to go down there yet so we headed of to Manhatten. On the way we stopped off at Ally's room for a short rest so we could discuss the outfits she had brought with her and what she might wear next night. It also gave me chance to see what the facilities in the Rembrandt Annex were like for a possible future stay. Then it was onto the club.
This was easily my favourite club last time and it proved to be so again.
Neither of us were really dressed for dancing so we found a place to perch and watch the crowd having fun.
As we had promised Angela, we finished up in Napoleon's. Compared to my last visit the place was incredibly quiet. Only two other T-girls in the place and an army of Tranny fanciers. Still no hassle. We had a quiet drink, met up with Angela again for a further chat and, at around one-thirty, decided to call it a night.

Ally felt that, as I was a visitor to her city, she had to see me safely to my hotel so I invited her up to check out my room and compare with hers.
It also provided an ideal opportunity for us to take a few snaps of each other with my digital camera. I had taken a few of myself before I went out but without a tripod it's difficult to set up decent shot's yourself.
With the time approaching two o'clock Ally took her leave, having arranged that we would meet up again at eleven o'clock to explore Afflec's Palace .........................
