Return to Sophie's

At the end of March 2000 I spent two nights at Sophie's in Plymouth. I went down for a little holiday enfemme but with makeup lessons in mind. It was interesting to compare Juliette's technique to Pandora and Jodie's .
Juliette favours applying all foundation with the finger tips whereas Pandora and Jodie favour the use of make-up sponges.
All ready to go out - note the driving shoes! The way she did things was for a more natural daylight/dusk trip rather than especially for photos as I was very keen to go out whilst I was there. Juliette was very careful to help me sort out a foundation combination that better matched my natural (very pale!) skin tone rather that the darker one I had used in Manchester (though because I wore a high necked sweater that looked OK that night).

Plymouth HoeBy coincidence, I had been contacted the week before by Jane, a TS who had been at Storme's last time I was there. She had found my site and wanted to know more about Sophie's because, although she lives in Plymouth, she wasn't aware of Sophie's. We seemed to hit it off so we had arranged to meet up and go out for the evening whilst I was down there. As she isn't actually 'out' in her home town, we limited ourselves to a drive down to the sea front for a little walk around after dark, plus a drive around town, ending at the drive-through McDonalds on the outskirts of town.

Me in my carI'd never used one before so I actually pulled up at the wrong window. The guy beckoned me back to the correct window but I didn't do the straightest bit of reversing ever so we ended up with quite a gap between me and the window.
I gave our order (he made no reaction at all that I could detect) and then he told us the price. I had almost the correct money in my hand - just £1 too much. In trying to hand over only £6 I ended up dropping the £5 note and one of the £1 coins. The note blew a little way away and the coin landed nearby (or so I thought).
JaneBy now Jane was having trouble restraining an attack of the giggles but I was enjoying myself ! He returned with the £5 and climbed back in - he said money was being dropped there all the time. After some more confusion regarding the missing £1 (which I had to write off in the end - I think it fell in a deep puddle) we moved down to the next window to wait for the meal. A woman was in the phone in the booth and gave us a few cursory looks but again nothing untoward that I could see. The food arrived and she passed it over so we then parked up in a nearby carpark, under a street light so we could see what we were doing.
Jane said she was impressed with how I'd handled the whole business and I have to say I felt really good about it too! We finished the night with a long chat and a cup of tea.

Next morning I had another make-over, this time planning to have Juliette take pictures and to spend the afternoon photographing myself. I also wanted to be able to go out again that evening having enjoyed the previous one so much (though this time it would be solo as Jane wasn't too well) so we kept the makeup light again. I started the day in my new leather trousers combined with a top I had borrowed from Juliette. You can see more in the gallery.

After a wide variety of poses in that outfit, I expressed a desire for something a little more glamourous. The result was a the black and gold number you can see here and in the gallery.

Of course what I really had to find was something a little shorter and lower cut ! See more in the gallery.

The afternoon's session of self-photography proved rather disappointing.
Many of the shots I took are, frankly, horrible and I have no intention of sharing them, even though the outfits I wore were rather nice.
But there were a few I quite liked so I've included them here.

As planned, just before dark, I did go for another ride down to the hoe and had a walk along the sea front. I wished that I had gone out earlier but as one of my first solo trips out I was still quite pleased with myself.
Next morning I, very reluctantly, had to bid farewell to Juliette - after thirty-six hours enfemme it was a real wrench to have to go back to guy clothes.
I consoled myself with three hours shopping in Plymouth where I picked up lot's of makeup (using a shopping list provided by Juliette) and a nice burgundy top from Next. Then it was the long drive home.

Next time I visit Juliette, it will be so that I can venture out in daylight but that will have to wait for while.........
