First Time At Storme's

After Angelic I knew I'd like to meet up with then Angel's again so when I saw there was going to be a get together on the 10th of March 2001 and that Siobhan would also be attending, I booked in with Pandora for a makeover, and booked some hotel accommodation a little nearer to Storme's than Pandora's.
Things started well - I found the hotel fine, got a nice big room, had some lunch, spent the traditional 2hrs shaving and then went over to Pan's for the makeover. Siobhan was just leaving having had her's. Pan then got started on me. She decided she could afford to be a little bolder with my eyemakeup this time (I rather like what she did). Then I got changed.

By this time Emma Louise and Julia had arrived. Emma kindly took a few pics of me and then it was time for me to drive myself back to the hotel. I had managed to park not too far from Pan's so in my new coat and driving shoes, I went down to the car, threw my case in the back and then spent a few minutes manoeuvering out of the rather tight parking space I was in, all the while wondering if the group of young lads on the corner were likely to come over and give me any trouble.
Luckily things were fine. The shoes were a wise investment as I felt totally in charge of the car. Mind you, having a pair of 10 denier stocking clad legs on show in front of me while driving proved to be an interesting distraction!
It was starting to get dark anyway so I didn't feel particularly exposed even when stopped at traffic lights. In fact I recommend driving dressed in the right outfit! The Hotel also had a nice discrete car park and I was able to park 20 yards from the door so no worries about lurking unwanted visitors.

All in all I was feeling very pleased and happy with myself so I settled down to wait to hear what time Siobhan would be setting off for the club. I should explain that, because Siobhan had already arranged to be going with 3 others, I would be getting a taxi on my own. I spent a bit of time taking a few pics of myself and reading.

By around 10pm I was wondering what was going in on so I called Siobhan - only to find they had set off 10 mins before! We'd got our wires crossed it appeared as she hadn't realized I expected a call and I hadnt actually made that clear to her.
Fortunately the cab company were able to get me a cab within 20mins of my call to them. The cab picked me up from the car park - a very nice chap was driving who shared his tales of recent trips to singles dinner dances.
He told me that his company regularly took TV's to the Wayout.
Unfortunately he'd only been to Storme's the once before so although we found it OK he didn't know exactly how to get in.
This led to the embarrassing part of the evening - you see there is a pub next door to the club ..... yep I blundered in there by mistake, realised what I'd done and walked straight back out again. AAAARGH!
The club entrance was actually round the back of the pub. Gratefully handing over the £5 entry fee, I went inside and was greeted by Andrea. That made me feel a lot better.

Then I checked my coat (but not my bag - Note to self : check bag too next time), got a drink and then went into the main club area to find Siobhan and co. Found them fairly quickly and grabbed a seat. But for some reason I was hideously introverted - I just couldn't seem to start up a conversation - maybe it was the loud music, maybe the lack of familiar faces but I just felt overwhelmed. I settled for a little people watching - and there really was a very wide mix of folk. What appeared to be a group of real middle aged ladies, a few couples of various ages and of course TV's of all shapes, sizes and dress styles.

There was a stated 'latex' policy for the evening but in fact there were only 10 or so that followed that steer. There were full length evening gowns, gorgeous sequined dresses split to the thigh, micro mini dresses, skirt and jacket combinations, trouser suits. It really did seem that you could wear anything you fancied really.
KimAfter a while, Claudia, Laura and Kim from the Angels turned up as well as Nicola, another Angel that I had talked quite a bit with when I was at Angelic.
I found myself minding Claudia, Laura and Kim's bags whilst they had a dance (a real wallflower me). Still it did give me and Nicola a chance to have a chat and I finally started to loosen up.

PandoraWhen I eventually got rid of the excess bags, Nicola and I wandered to the bar at the other end of the club, where it was a little quieter. Pandora, Emma and Julia arrived at this point so we went out into the foyer for a chat. It's quieter out there. That's where Andrea found us and took a few pics and I finally had the courage to get my camera out and take a few too. By now I had discovered that pretty lingerie is not necessary suitable lingerie for a night on the town. The red and black basque I wore turned out to be much stretchier than I thought with the result that I was constantly trying to re-seat my boobs! (I had finally got my own silicon ones from Pan that night). Next time I wear my tight body or long-line bra to be safe!

After Pan and her team had left for the Wayout (they'd only been at Storme's for about half an hour !) I went back into the main club with Nicola.
Eventually, lurking on the edge of the dance floor, I attempted to dance along with the music despite my handbag. By 1:45am I was getting a bit worried about what to do next. Siobhan had already been to the Wayout and come back saying they hadn't liked it. I didn't fancy turning up there alone so I decided to try to book a taxi back to the hotel.

Another note to myself - whatever your driver tells you on the way to the club, getting a taxi back is NOT easy. I wished I had pre-booked. Having tried two firms (each saying I'd need to wait for an hour) and resolving that perhaps I might have to spring for a black cab, I decided to ask the doorman if he could help. A combination of info from the bar lady and some incredible luck meant that one of their regular cabbies had arrived at the club just as I was asking so I jumped at the chance, grabbed my coat and we were off.
He was a charming young Russian chap - we did our best to have a conversation and luckily for me he knew exactly where my hotel was so I had another pleasant journey. The travel sickness pills I took at the start of the night really paid off !

Back in my hotel and I really missed the chance to chat with the girls after my night out. To make up for it I spent an hour trying a bit of self photography. I clearly need more practice and the lack of a tripod was limiting but some shots came out OK.

With the usual reluctance it was time to leave Wendy behind for the weekend so off with the clothes and makeup and off to bed. Surprisingly for me I slept well. Next morning I packed everything away and drove home.

To my surprise we'd been invited over to my brother's for lunch so that's how I spent my afternoon. I must admit to experiencing a rather odd feeling - contrasting what I'd been up to the previous evening without any of my family's knowledge with this family event. I guess it reinforced the feeling that much as I might want to I should never burden them by telling about Wendy.

As usual, by the end of the week I was looking forward to my next night out, especially as this time I was going to Manchester ................
