Folkestone Party

On 12th July 2002 I headed down to Ashford to visit a friend, a "lapsed" T-girl whose femme name was Becky but who, for the course of this entry we'll call 'Tom'. We spent the morning and afternoon watching Doctor Who which is a major hobby with us.
Then whilst 'Tom' caught up on his sleep, I went to my hotel to get myself ready for the evening when there was to be a gathering of girls happening at Barbara's. She runs an excellent dressing service nearby in Folkestone. I knew that three or four girls I know would be there (including Angela on a rare night out) so I was sure it would be fun.
And I'd also confirmed that it would be fine for 'Tom' to come along even though he was no longer dressing. I had already decided to wear a very short black dress, teamed with black patent courts. Since the weather was a little showery, I added my short black PVC mac and of course my handbag.
'Tom' knocked on my hotel room door at around 7:20pm and as we were a little late, we walked straight out to his car and set off for Folkestone. Although I had mapped out the route to Barbara's the one way system still managed to confuse me a bit so we arrived a little late at about 8:20pm.

Angela, Bea and JennyBJ in her first outfit of the evening Most of the others were there by then so I was able to flit around saying hello. It was good to see Angela as it had been 7 months since we last met. I also met up with Bea who I had last seen when I visited the Les Sheks event the previous October. Claire Tice shortly after is, a really fun girl, who I had spoken with on Angela's phone and mailed in the past.
BJ and Patti AntoniaAlso there were BJ and partner Marg (suffering bravely with a broken bone poor thing), Patti and wife plus their little son (aged 4 and who quickly retired to bed). I was also introduced to a number of other girls including Antonia and Jenny.
Nikki caught unawaresThere were a few RGs there too, partners of the other girls mainly but also a girl who was selling makeup and jewellery and who was a good friend of Barbara. She had a stall set up in the kitchen and 'Tom' and I spent quite a while chatting with her. I also purchased a lovely necklace with a heart shaped jewelled pendant. It was there I managed to ambush Nikki with my camera - she'd been doing the same to everyone else all night so it was only fair I thought !

A picture with 'Tom'With so many UK Angels present you wont be surprised to hear that camera's were much in evidence and many pictures taken. And I couldn't resist getting a few taken with 'Tom'. Initially we just sat side by side but I cheekily put my legs across his lap for one shot and he responded by hoisting me onto his lap (the side bar picture on this entry)! Since I was pretty sure being caught that unawares had made me blink, I suggested another shot with me sat on his knee - the one you see here and probably one of my favourite recent pictures. Sadly 'Tom' is too shy to let me show you his male mode look so I've had to blur him out.

The Three Winners and their prizesIt turned out there was also a little competition that night. Of course I had to have a go didn't I ? We had to parade before the judges and talk a bit about somthing or other - I found it rather hadr work. Patti cleverely had a story book and read that to the panel. I think BJ told them about hero hobbies. As it turned out Patti won a bottle of wine for best personality, I won best makeup, and BJ (in her second outfit for the evening) won best dressed and the trophy! My prize was a necklace, a lip liner and some eyeshadow.

Wendy tells 'Tom' how to use her camera whilst Bea and Barbara look on ...After the competition I asked 'Tom' to take a few pictures - shame I couldn't just let him get on with it rather than offering advice all the time as this picture illustrates! Still Barbara seemed to find it all very funny.
After much chatting plus a little food and drink the evening drew to a close with the raffle draw.

The party broke up around 23:30 which was just as well as 'Tom' had an early shift the next day. He dropped me at my hotel at about 23:50 and we said our good-byes. As I was full of energy still I decided to have a little photo session on my own. You can see the results of that in the gallery section. And unbeknownst to me then, the next day would hold even more girlie fun.......
