School Disco

Nas at Work!Friday 15th Feb a group of nine naughty school girls went the schooldisco.com. The trip was organised by Jodie at the Boudoir. Nas was on hand to do wonderful nails (including extensions for those that wanted them), and Jodie (due to the unfortunate illness of the other makeup artist) had to do all eight make-overs (Vicki Lee arrived dressed), a remarkable achievement.
School Girl WendyI had been lucky with my outfit. I already had a skirt that would work OK and Nicki had given me some ideal shoes just the weekend before. I did have to hunt around for a suitable shirt style blouse though. I eventually found one on a market stall and they also supplied the white socks. Although the blouse was a size 12 I found I had to re-sow all the button holes to ensure I didn't burst out of it! Still that does mean I managed a rather curvy effect 'up-top'.
For a change I had a full makeover, including nails as I figured I would need all the help I could get to achieve the school girl look. It was definitely worth it don't you think ?
Me and KathyMe and NicolaThere was also the added fun of chatting with the other girls whilst we waited for our makeovers, and the inevitable round of photographs once we were ready (see bottom of page for some portrait shots of the other girls).
The whole gang!Jodie's Dad, Mike, popped by to take some group pics for Jodie and, of course, we all asked him to do the same for us. The girls are, from the left, Rebecca, Nicola, Jaynie hiding behind Kirsty, Me, Vicki Lee, Kathy, Tessa and Christine. And there was wine and nibbles to keep us going .....

MeJaynie,Tessa, KathyWe travelled from the Boudoir to the club in a minibus. It was a real school outing atmosphere, with Jodie and Nas providing party bags of toys and sweets. And some vodka shots to keep the girls lively! Cameras were again in evidence.

Me at the club The club was packed with ordinary folk dressed as school boys and girls (I'm told it holds 2500) . When we first went into the club I was slightly overwhelmed by quite how full it was. The downstairs area was pretty much shoulder to shoulder, and even the upstairs bar was elbow to elbow. But it turned out there was a slightly less busy area away from the bar , level with the stage but above and to the left of it so that's where we made our base for the evening. Once I realized we would have a bit of space and that everyone was enjoying themselves so much that they weren't going to hassle us I just let myself enjoy it all.

Jaynie and Me We had room to dance as we wished but were far enough from the music to be able to hear each other talk. I got to chat with the girls I hadn't met before and with those I had. The music style was also enjoyable as it concentrated on late 70s/ early 80s music. We were the only TV's in evidence mind but that didn't bother me - most people seemed happy enough to accept us. As usual I was pretty oblivious to what sort of looks I was getting !
And for quite a lot of the time I took off my specsand hung them from one of thebutton holes on the blouse so I didn't feel quite so warm thoigh it did mean that I couldn't really see too well !

The girls on stageAs the evening moved on Jodie decided it would be fun to get some of the girls on the stage in front of everyone so that's what she did. They'd only let four girls have a go and I wasn't one of them - thank goodness !
The girls give it their allVicki Lee, Tessa, Kathy and Christine are the girls in the picture and they seemed to enjoy themselves - I was happy enough upstairs watching.

Once the girls had returned, we indulged in a bit of group dancing (and singing!) and then, for the last half hour Jodie and Nas said we really should go down to the main area to dance. We didso and it was great fun and no hassle. Infact we had trouble dragging Jodie and some of the girls away as they were enjoying themselves so much. We stayed at the club till 3am and then went back to the Boudoir to change (having dropped Jaynie and Kathy at the Philbeach hotel enroute). I eventually got home at 5:15am after a really fun night out.

Now as promised, a few portraits of the girls present :
