Spring Glitz 2002 - Part 1

My NailsOn 14th March 2002 Sarah T, Jo and I one more headed to Blackpool, this time to attend Spring Glitz 2002. We set off earlier this time as Sarah had booked a nail appointment for us in the afternoon. Having checked in, we went in to town (in male mode) to have our nails done. I was first in the chair. The young nail technician said mine were too nice to spoil with extensions so I had a manicure and a French style varnish (see picture).
I chose this style so that it wouldn't clash with any of the outfits I would be wearing over the weekend. Sarah had full nail extensions, painted silver. The whole experience was very enjoyable, especially chatting with the technician and some of the other (female) clients whilst waiting for the nails to dry.
We then wandered back to the hotel to get ready for the evening. I decided that for dinner I would wear my red wig, my white camisole top, white short-sleeved cover-up and pale blue stretch trousers with a white bustier underneath and the outfit topped finished off with my white stiletto shoes. (I wore this outfit to Pink Punters before and it seemed to work well) After an enjoyable buffet meal, we retired to the bar as usual for a drink and a chat.
Me and Sarah Some time later I went upstairs and exchanged the trousers for a denim skirt and left the cover-up behind as it had become rather warm. Now I was ready for a little dancing . I decided to restrict myself to the hotel rather than brave the clubs with Jo as it did seem a bit windy outside. Anyway I had a good nights dancing in the hotel, getting to bed around 2am.
Sue and Jessica I decided to restrict myself to the hotel rather than brave the clubs with Jo as it did seem a bit windy outside and I didn't fancy chasing my wig down the street!
Sue and Jessica were amongst those that stayed in so I was able to pick up a few dancing tips from them. I had a good nights dancing in the hotel, getting to bed around 2am.

Next morning I was up early (7:30am) because this time I had promised myself that I would be Wendy throughout the weekend and needed the time in order to be ready fro breakfast. For daytime I chose my brown wig, black body shaper, light blue long sleeved round-necked top, black stretch trousers and black knee boots. I joined the others for breakfast. I was the only one amongst my friends that had dressed for the breakfast though there were plenty of other girls that had.
After breakfast I decided to head up to town for some shopping so, donning my ankle length coat, I headed downstairs. By chance Sarah T and Jo (both in guy mode) were heading that way too so we walked along the seafront together to the shopping centre. Sarah told me afterwards that she had been watching other people and how they reacted to me and that most hadn't given me a second glance This pleased me as I chose my outfit to have exactly that effect! The wind was still quite strong but coming from the land so we were actually sheltered from it most of the way to the shops. But as we turned into the shops I realised I would have to be careful or my wig might well become dislodged! We parted at Boots the chemist and I went in to purchase a few essentials. Then I set off to do some clothes shopping.
Half an hour in New Look resulted in me buying a new black coat/mac (three quarter length) and a rust coloured blouse. Next I headed to Marks and Spencer where I bought myself a swimsuit - a black one-piece with two vertical white stripes. This is for the trip to Bournemouth in April where the hotel has a hot tub and a swimming pool. The final item on my shopping list was some white tummy control briefs which I got from Bhs. In all cases the staff were very helpful and polite, making the shopping experience a joy. The other shoppers were also equally polite and I didn't detect any animosity from anyone.
One of my nails was exhibiting a little cracking in the varnish so I popped in to the nail clinic and asked if they could re-do the nail for me. It also gave me a chance to show them Wendy! I don't think the girl recognised me when I first went in but when I spoke, and of course showed the nails, she did. Again it was a very pleasant experience and I had a chat with another lady whilst I waited for the nail to dry.
Then I set off back to the hotel, once again taking the route along the sea front. I began to realise that I should have taken a rest somewhere as my feet were hurting just a little but as I was nearing the hotel I pressed on. I bumped into Dawn (in male mode) who was heading up to the shops and we chatted briefly but as it was beginning to rain, I cut things short and headed into the hotel.
In the Lobby I spotted Delores who I had spoken to at the last Blackpool event and we spent a happy half an hour chatting - she didn't actually realise who I was at first because she saw me mostly at breakfast in male mode last time! I then took my purchases up to my room, changed trousers and boots for a skirt, tights and flat shoes (my feet were exhibiting signs of wear and tear!) and headed to the bar to see if there was anyone there for a chat. The Hayway girls were just arriving so I had a chat with them amongst others. I also purchased a pair of lower heeled, black wide strapped sandals as I could tell that my feet wouldn't be up to high heels that evening!
By about 3pm I knew it was time to retire to my room to prepare for the evening......
