Tinsel and Glitter 2002 - Part 2

Next morning I was up early once more dressed in blue top and black trousers, this time with my long winter coat, as I needed to check out the smaller dress shops around town that the girls had told me about. The shop assistants were especially friendly this time, practically begging me to try stuff on and of course I couldn't resist. And I'm so glad because I would have bought the wrong size dress if I hadn't ! I found the perfect strapless black satin dress but despite, my asking the sales girl to zip me up, it was impossible for me to get into a size 12 so I had to go for the size 14, a surprise as with dresses with no sleeves a 12 usually is OK.
Now I had the dress I needed shoes so I headed for the nearest Shoe Express to look for some high heeled strappy sandals. I tried on lot's of pairs, finally settling on a pair with a large crystal where the straps joined across the toes.
I was then able to find earrings and necklace with matching crystals to complete the ensemble.
I also managed to find some tights with a little jewel on them at the back of the calf. Finally I purchased a new black strapless bra (an essential for this dress) and some new control panties to guarantee a flat tummy!
On Saturday afternoon I was out and about again, this time for a walk down to a SF book shop that Jessica had told me about. I hadn't realised quite what a long walk it was and I made the fatal mistake of hurrying (most real girls do not rush!) so I rather fear that I was read a few time on this little outing. But I did eventually find the shop and no one in there seemed to bat an eyelid. They did have a few Doctor Who items but nothing I really wanted so I saved a few pennies.
The weather, though cool, was lovely and sunny so I decided to abandon my original idea of catching a tram back and to complete my afternoon by walking back along the promenade and take in the sea air.

That night I made sure I was ready nice and early because I wanted Cheryl to take a couple of pictures of me in my new outfit.
After a very pleasant dinner we went up to watch the cabaret (very poor - the comic had even forgotten to bring his suit with him), the raffle (interminable but for good cause) and to fit in a little dancing.
It soon became apparent that my new sandals were lovely to look at but bad for dancing in so I retired to my room to put on a more appropriate dancing outfit. I then danced the night away until the disco closed at 2am.

Next day I didn't dress for the journey home because I had promised Nicki a 'non-Wendy' day (my idea I hasten to add). Just as well really as we dropped by to pick up Sarah's girlfriend on the way back and she probably was better off not meeting Wendy in the flesh after a full on girlie weekend!
I got to Nicki's place around 3pm and we watched 'Doctor Who and the Creature from the Pit' together and an episode of Enterprise before we went out for an Indian meal. This time I risked a 'Balti' which turned out to be the spiciest meal I have ever eaten ! I could still taste it the next day. Still a nice way to end a great weekend.
