| On 31st August Nicki had a consultation with a facial surgeon (Doctor Van Der Dussen) regarding some work she wanted done on her nose. The consultation was in Harley Street, London and she suggested that I might like to go along for moral support as Wendy! This would be my first ever trip on public transport. | ||
| As usual I got ready at her place (White vest top, black slacks, black low heeled pumps). We drove to near-by Hemel Hempstead, and caught the train in to Euston. As they were working on the line and had closed the ticket office, this involved a long queue on the platform for our tickets. Nerve wracking at first but actually no hassle at all. We managed to get a good seat, one where we weren't directly opposite anyone else, which I thought would give less chance for anyone to read me. | ||
| The journey was fine and we arrived on time in London. After a quick trip to the ladies loo (I was desperate) and a Burger King at the station, we headed for the tube. Luckily it was only two stops and wasn't too crowded so I didn't get too overheated. Of course you can't easily avoid being looked at in the tube but I had no comments so I was happy. We got off at Oxford Circus and headed off to the consulting rooms. | ||
| I hadn't been prepared for quite how crowded Oxford Street would be so it was a bit overwhelming for a few moments but I soon settled down. Things got quieter as we headed into Harley street. As it happens we were 30mins early and they were running late too so we went off for a short trip around the shops. Sadly we didn't find any thing we wanted but it was another experience to savour. | ||
| Back at the consulting rooms and we actually had to wait another hour before the surgeons arrived (they had been operating that morning and things took longer than expected). Still we got to talk with a couple of the other clients (TS's like Nicki). Nicki's consultation went as she hoped (though in the end she decided to go with another surgeon, mainly due to reasons of cost). | ||
| The tube was packed on the way back and I found myself standing inches from other passengers - again the fact it was only two stops was much appreciated ! The train wasn't too packed so again we had our choice of seats and an uneventful journey home. | ||
We
got back to Nicki's by 7:30 - which was a bit late really as we were off
to a Party at Sarah T's that was starting then... A frantic change of
makeup ( I only needed to clean off and re-shave my chin thanks to the
laser treatment) and we were off, arriving about 9pm. Luckily everything
was running slightly late anyway and we weren't the last there either. A
night of chatting, dancing, drinking (orange in my case) followed.Pictures from the evening are presented below. |
