| On the 23rd of January 2006
we were visited by our friend 'Tom' from Ashford. Nicki had agreed it
would be fine for me to spend the whole day as Wendy so I was already
enfemme when he arrived (though at Nicki's suggestion I'd changed from
the micro mini that I originally put on into Nicki's more discreet knee
length skirt). Once he'd settled in and had a bit of a chat we all had dinner together. |
||
| Afterwards we really felt we needed to take a little exercise to walk off the meal. We had hoped to go to Whipsnade Zoo but, with dinner taking longer than planned and the zoo only open till 4pm, we decided we needed an alternative. I had noticed a 'tree cathedral' marked on the map nearby so I suggested we go there. Switching my sheer tights for warmer opaques and putting on my favourite brown suede boots, I drove us to Whipsnade village and hunted out the Cathedral.. | ||

As soon as we arrived I realized I'd overlooked something in my
preparations. The weather had been unremittingly wet for a number of
days and the cathedral was completely unpaved.Any attempt to enter could only result in the ruination of my boots - what was I to do ? As luck would have it I had a pair or trainers that I sometimes wear for rambling in the boot of the car so, on tip toes I retrieved them and reluctantly changed out of my boots. We then went into the cathedral where 'Tom' kindly took some pics of Nicki and I. |

As
you can see the shoes were hardly the height of fashion but at least I
didn't sink into the very soggy ground. Oh and a tip if you plan to
visit - a tree cathedral made of deciduous trees doesn't have much
foliage on it in January. Doh!With the sun soon to set and the charms of the cathedral palling I suggested we go nearby Ivinghoe Beacon. |
||
There I was sure was a nicely paved car park that would allow us some
less soggy ground to enjoy the views and the fresh air. And so it
proved. Indeed we enjoyed it so much that we've resolved to do some
proper walking around there in the summer.Returning home the first order of business was for me to clean the mud off of everyone's shoes (I felt guilty for all the mess since the tree cathedral had been my idea). Whilst I got on with that Nicki prepared tea. |
||
| After tea we prepared
ourselves for a night clubbing. 'Tom' is a great admirer of T-Girls and
was keen to go to Pink Punters. Indeed we had chosen this weekend for
his visit especially because it was an Angelic night. What with three of
us needing to get ready in a one bedroom flat with a single bathroom we
didn't set off for the club until nine-thirty. Although we did take the
camera with us we forgot to take any pictures ! So for those interested
, I wore by black, white and red V-neck top, black leather skirt, mist
coloured tights and black low heeled sling backs. For a change I took my
black leather back pack style handbag. Nicki wore sensible black
trousers and a black Bardot top which really suits her. 'Tom' wore a
white shirt black trousers and smart shoes. We danced till midnight but with, Nicki and I both feeling tired, it was time to drag 'Tom' home bringing the day to an end. |
