Bollington Weekend 2010

At Dinner In the BarIn February we once more joined lots of other Transgender folk at the Northern Concord Big 'N' event. This year our friends had other commitments so we weren't sure if we'd know any of the other attendees. But as it turned out Janet Scott her partner Tamara were there and as we knew them a little from previous events, including one at Janet's place, we decided to join them for the first nights dinner.
After dinner we both changed into our dancing clothes (and Nicki kindly took lots of pics of me).

Wendy In the SnowFor the Saturday itself we'd decided we decide to visit Buxton. Now it must be said that we had a seen a bit of snow on the hills as we had headed north the previous day but I hadn't for one moment considered that to get to Buxton we had to climb considerably. So it was that we found our selves surrounded by snow covered peaks. Well I couldn't resist so, despite Nicki having chosen to wear a denim miniskirt and no tights, miniskirt I prevailed upon her to nip out and take a few pictures. I had wisely chosen 60 denier tights so I didn't feel the cold quite so much. Arriving in Buxton we were pleased to find that snow only remained on the ground away from the town centre.

MemorialScenic ViewWe spent the morning shopping, mostly for shoes and boots but sadly to no avail. After a visit to Costa Coffee we decided to have a walk around and I was drawn to the vantage point of the town's War Memorial.

Heading backHair DisasterWe then carefully picked our way back down the hill (by now the cold wind was turning Nicki's knees blue) returned to our car and headed back to the hotel.
As usual there was spread of afternoon tea and cakes available so we had a happy restful time in the lounge. I even decided to let my hair down for a change. Wont be doing that again in a hurry !

A nice on in glasses at lastNaughty WendyIn the evening it was the usual sumptuous meal, a chance for a change of outfit, some more pictures (Nicki is so patient with me) and of course dancing the night to it's end.

Next day we woke to a foot of snow! This was definitely a day to put Wendy aside as, parked in the lower car park, I knew it was going to be a challenge for us to get home that day. After 40 minutes of careful shunting and use of handy bags of gravel I made it up the slope and, after loading the car we headed home, well satisfied with another excellent Bollington Event.
